Why vehicles clutter property and architectural photos — Magic Eraser

A neighbor's car in the driveway next door, a delivery truck blocking the street view, a parked sedan covering the landscaping — vehicles are the most common visual clutter in real estate exterior photography. They distract buyers from the property, obscure curb appeal, and date the photo (model years, license plates). In architectural photography, vehicles in the frame compete with the building for visual attention. Magic Eraser removes vehicles of any size and rebuilds what is behind them. The AI handles complex surfaces including asphalt roads, concrete driveways, brick pavers, gravel, and grass. For real estate photographers who cannot control street parking during a shoot, this eliminates the need for expensive reshoot visits or tedious manual Photoshop work.

Пошаговая инструкция

  1. 1

    Upload your photo

Open Magic Eraser on the web, iOS, or Android and upload the exterior real estate photo, architectural shot, or street scene containing the vehicle you want removed. All standard image formats are accepted.

  2. 2

    Brush over the vehicle

Paint over the entire vehicle including wheels, mirrors, shadow on the ground, and any reflection in nearby windows or puddles. For large vehicles like trucks or SUVs, use a broad brush that covers the complete silhouette. Include a small margin beyond the vehicle's outline to give the AI context for the surface reconstruction.

  3. 3

    Erase and check the surface

Tap Erase and the AI removes the vehicle while reconstructing the road surface, driveway, curb, and any landscaping that was behind it. Check that road markings, curb lines, and grass edges look continuous. For vehicles that were casting long shadows, verify the shadow area blends naturally with the rest of the surface. Export for listings, portfolios, or marketing materials.

Важные замечания

Vehicles are large objects that occupy significant frame area, making the AI reconstruction more demanding than removing a small object. For best results, use the highest resolution source image available — more pixel data gives the AI better context for surface reconstruction. When a vehicle partially obscures a building, fence, or landscaping feature, the AI infers what is behind the vehicle from visible context on either side. The reconstruction is usually accurate for continuous features (a fence line, a row of bushes, a road surface) but may need touch-up for unique features (a house number, a decorative mailbox, a specific plant). For wide-angle shots where multiple vehicles are visible, remove them one at a time starting with the largest. This gives the AI the best context for each subsequent removal. License plates in exported images raise privacy considerations in some markets — removing vehicles eliminates this concern entirely.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Is it free to remove vehicles from real estate photos?
Yes. Magic Eraser's free tier handles vehicle removal with daily limits. Real estate photographers processing full property shoots benefit from Premium ($29.99/year) for unlimited usage and higher-resolution exports.
Can it handle large trucks and SUVs?
Yes. Magic Eraser removes vehicles of any size — sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, delivery vans, and commercial vehicles. Larger vehicles require more background reconstruction, but the AI handles complex surfaces like roads, driveways, and landscaping accurately.
What happens to road markings and curb lines?
The AI reconstructs continuous road features including lane markings, curb edges, and gutter lines. It extends visible patterns through the area where the vehicle was parked. For unusual markings (crosswalks, arrows), inspect the result at 100% and run a second pass if needed.
Should I include the vehicle's shadow in the selection?
Yes. Always include the full shadow. A remaining shadow with no object casting it is the most obvious artifact of an incomplete removal. Brush over both the vehicle and its shadow for a clean result.
