Information stored within an image file that describes the image properties, capture settings, and context.
Image metadata includes technical details (camera model, exposure settings, focal length), creation details (date, time, GPS coordinates), and editing history. EXIF is the most common metadata standard for photos. Metadata helps organize large image libraries and can be important for SEO (alt text, descriptions) and copyright tracking.
