Image Synthesis

The AI generation of entirely new images, often from text, sketches, noise, or other inputs, using models trained on large visual datasets.

Image synthesis covers AI techniques that create new visual content rather than simply editing an existing photo. Early systems used GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks) to produce faces, textures, and simple scenes; modern diffusion and transformer-based models can generate more detailed images from text prompts, reference images, sketches, or random noise. Common uses include concept art, product mockups, marketing visuals, synthetic training data, virtual fashion try-ons, and architectural visualization. Results can look convincing, but they still need review for prompt accuracy, brand safety, bias, copyright risk, and signs of synthetic manipulation such as deepfakes or misleading context.
