Features

1

Perfect circle crop

The crop area is a precise circle. The tool outputs a square PNG where everything outside the circle is fully transparent, ensuring the circular shape is preserved on any background.

2

Oval and custom shapes

Switch to oval mode and set a custom aspect ratio for the ellipse. Use presets for common shapes or drag the handles to create a freeform oval.

3

Drag and zoom positioning

Move the image within the crop circle by dragging, and zoom in or out with a slider or scroll gesture. Center the subject exactly where you want it.

4

Output size control

Set the output diameter in pixels — 200 px for small avatars, 1000 px for high-resolution profile images. The image is resampled to the exact size you specify.

Common questions

Why is the output a square PNG if the crop is circular?

+

Image files are always rectangular. The output is a square PNG where the circular area contains your photo and everything outside is transparent. When placed on any background, only the circular photo is visible.

What size should I use for a profile picture?

+

Most social platforms display profile pictures between 110 and 400 pixels, but upload at the highest resolution the platform allows. 400 px is a safe choice for most platforms; 1000 px covers high-DPI displays.

Can I add a border around the circle?

+

This tool focuses on cropping. After downloading the circular PNG, use the Image Border Adder to wrap it in a colored ring or styled frame.

Need to remove the background first?

Background Eraser can isolate the subject from a busy background before you crop to a circle. A clean cutout produces a more professional avatar.
