Features

1

Lossless output

PNG uses lossless compression, so converting from JPEG to PNG will not introduce any additional quality loss beyond what the original JPEG compression already applied.

2

Transparency-ready

The resulting PNG supports a full 8-bit alpha channel, making it the perfect input for the Background Eraser tool or any layered design workflow.

3

Batch conversion

Convert up to 25 JPEG files at once. All outputs are packaged into a single ZIP download for fast retrieval.

4

Color profile preservation

Embedded ICC color profiles (sRGB, Display P3, Adobe RGB) are carried over to the PNG output to ensure consistent color rendering across devices.

How to use

1

Upload JPEG files

Drag and drop one or more .jpg or .jpeg files into the converter area. Each file can be up to 50 MB.

2

Convert

Click the Convert button. Each JPEG is decoded and re-encoded as a 32-bit PNG in your browser — no server round-trip needed.

3

Download PNG files

Download each PNG individually or grab all of them as a single ZIP archive.

4

Remove the background (optional)

Open the new PNG in the Background Eraser to cut out the subject and get a transparent background in one click.

Common questions

Does converting to PNG improve the image quality?

+

No. Converting from JPEG to PNG preserves the existing quality without adding further loss, but it cannot recover detail already discarded by JPEG compression. For that, try AI Enhance.

Why is the PNG file larger than the original JPEG?

+

PNG uses lossless compression, which stores every pixel exactly. JPEG achieves smaller sizes by discarding data the eye is unlikely to notice. The larger PNG is the trade-off for zero additional quality loss and transparency support.

Can I make the background transparent after converting?

+

Yes — that is the most common reason to convert to PNG. After conversion, open the file in the Background Eraser, and the AI will remove the background and leave a transparent alpha channel.
