Features

1

Multiple blend modes

Choose from normal, multiply, screen, overlay, soft light, hard light, difference, and more. Each mode produces a different visual effect when the two layers interact.

2

Opacity control

Set the overlay opacity from 0 to 100 percent. At lower values the overlay is a subtle ghost; at full opacity it completely covers the base image in normal mode.

3

Free positioning and scaling

Drag the overlay to any position on the base image. Resize it with corner handles and rotate it to any angle. Snap guides help you center or align the overlay precisely.

4

Transparency support

Upload PNG overlays with transparent backgrounds and only the visible pixels blend with the base image. Perfect for logos, stickers, and cutout graphics.

How to use

1

Upload the base image

Drag your background image into the tool. This becomes the bottom layer of the composite.

2

Add the overlay

Upload a second image as the overlay. It appears on top of the base image with handles for positioning and resizing.

3

Blend and adjust

Select a blend mode and set the opacity. Drag the overlay to the exact position you want.

4

Download

Click download to save the merged composite as a JPEG or PNG. Both layers are flattened into a single image.

Common questions

What is the difference between blend modes?

+

Each blend mode uses a different mathematical formula to combine the pixel values of the two layers. Multiply darkens, Screen lightens, Overlay increases contrast, and Soft Light produces a subtle tint. Experiment with each to find the effect that suits your image.

Can I add more than two layers?

+

The tool supports one base and one overlay at a time. To add additional layers, download the first composite, then re-upload it as the base and add a new overlay on top.

How do I create a double-exposure effect?

+

Upload a portrait as the base and a texture or landscape as the overlay. Set the blend mode to Screen or Lighten and reduce the overlay opacity to around 60 percent. Adjust positioning until the two images merge into a pleasing double-exposure look.

Need to remove the overlay background first?

Background Eraser can cut out the subject of the overlay image so only the foreground blends with the base. Clean cutouts produce sharper, more professional composites.
