Image-to-Image

An AI generation technique that uses an existing image as a reference to guide a new image with modified style, content, or scene details.

Image-to-image generation starts with a source image and a text prompt, then creates a new image that keeps the source composition while applying requested changes. Low strength settings make subtle edits, such as light style transfer or small scene adjustments. High strength settings can transform the image more dramatically, but may lose exact details from the original. This technique supports practical creative workflows: turn a rough sketch into a photorealistic scene, change the season in a landscape photo, convert a daytime scene to nighttime, or apply an artistic style while preserving the subject's pose and layout. The source image provides spatial guidance that pure text-to-image generation lacks.
