Belichtungsreihe

Capturing multiple shots of the same scene at different exposure levels to ensure optimal exposure or enable HDR processing.

Exposure bracketing typically captures three or more shots: one at the metered exposure, one underexposed, and one overexposed. This provides insurance against exposure errors and supplies the different exposure data needed for HDR merge. Cameras offer automatic exposure bracketing that fires a rapid burst at specified exposure intervals. Beyond exposure, photographers also bracket focus (focus stacking for macro photography), white balance, and flash power. For HDR landscapes, a common bracket is -2EV, 0EV, +2EV, which captures detail from deep shadows to bright highlights. The bracketed exposures are merged in post-processing to create a single image with extended dynamic range.
