✓Photograph small items like jewelry and ornaments from above on a white foam board — this gives the cleanest starting point and the most accurate overhead perspective for Etsy thumbnails.
✓Include a size reference in your original photo (a coin, ruler, or hand) for secondary listing images — Etsy's most common buyer complaint is unexpected item size.
✓For the primary listing image, fill at least 75% of the frame with your product. Etsy's search thumbnails are small, and products that appear larger in the grid get more clicks.
✓Shoot with your phone's 2x or 3x lens instead of the wide-angle default — telephoto compression makes handmade products look more flattering and reduces edge distortion on round items like pottery.
